"Wings to Fly" - 36"X36" Acrylic on Canvas

Frida Kahlo is one of the people that originally made me want to be an artist. I ended up following a different artistic path than Frida, but the way she lived her life has been an inspiration. Even though her life was full of hardships, both physical and emotional, she lived it with grace and determination. As she once said (probably during one of her many convalesences)

“Feet, what do I need you for when I have wings to fly?”

So, here's to spreading our wings every day and following our own path with Frida's grace and determination.

There were so many reasons for Frida Kahlo to give up on her passion, but she chose to live her life with grace and determination. I wish to be like Frida Kahlo because she never let life's troubles get in her way. She is determined to reach her goals and to let other people witness her talent. There are not many people who have the same perseverance as she does. Just like her, I hope that I can muster up the strength to fight for my dreams, too.

I think being kind to yourself is so important on off days, because forcing it will only make you hate to work.
